2012 Rules
MEMBERSHIP:
1. The UMB is open to members up to age 14 as of January 1st, 2012, weighing not in excess of 120 pounds with their gear. A photocopy of the members birth certificate is required with membership application. Previous members birth certificates are held from previous year.
2. Parents must provide a signed and notarized statement of permission and release of liability--(UMB Application).
3. Member fees will be $65.00 per season. Member will not be able to compete without current dues paid.
4. A seasonal Waiver/Release is required.
GENERAL RULES (non-accordance to rules by member or family of member will result in suspension)
1. All associated with the UMB are expected to conduct themselves in a fair, polite, respectful and legal manner at any and all events.
2. The use of drugs or alcohol is prohibited at UMB events.
3. The UMB reserves the right to have removed; any parent, legal guardian, or member causing a disturbance.
4. Mistreatment or endangerment to rodeo livestock will not be tolerated and will result in suspension.
5. Falsification of name, age, or personal information pertaining to member will result in immediate suspension, also parent or legal guardian will be responsible for reimbursment in full; any monies paid at previous and current events. Neglect to do so will result in legal action.
6. Fighting or quarreling will result in suspension.
DRESS CODE
1. Boots and long sleeve collared shirt are required.
2. No Caps allowed.
3. One sleeve my be rolled up when riding.
SAFETY
1. HELMETS, VESTS, and MOUTHPIECES are MANDATORY.
FORMAT
1. Regular season events will consist of one(1) long round and the top third of Long Go into the short round.
2. There will be three age divisions
-7 and under
-8-10
-11-14
ENTRY FEES
1. Entry Fees will be $65.00 per event, with an additional fee at the Season Finals.
a. $30.00 from each fee will be held for stock and $35.00 will be placed into jackpot.
2. Entry fees must be paid in CASH. Payout will be in cash.
3. Entry fee is non-refundable.
4. If a contestant calls in, enters, and fails to show or provide a valid medical release, they will be required to pay entry fee for that event before being allowed to enter another event. Failure to do so will result in suspension.
5. The UMB will never pay ground money at any event. In the event of no qualified rides, the jackpot moneys will roll to the next event.
6. Non-members may enter events for an entry fee of $75.00. They will not be eligible for points.
7. All divisions will be judged for eight seconds---No payout on time as in previous seasons.
POINT SYSTEM
1. The UMB will use the PBR point system.
b. Long Go--Points as follows plus ride score
1st=100 2nd=90 3rd=80 4th=70 5th=60 6th=50 7th=40 8th=30 9th=20 10th=10
c. Short Go--Points as follows plus ride score
1st=100 2nd=90 3rd=80 4th=70 5th=60 6th=50 7th=40 8th=30 9th=20 10th=10
d. Average points
1st=300 2nd=270 3rd=240 4th=210 5th=180 6th=150 7th=120 8th=90 9th=60 10th=30
2. Points will accumulate and count towards year end championship amd eligibilty for after season finals. No score rides do not accumulate points.
RIDING RULES
1. Riding is done with one hand.
2. No more than two bells on a rope and at least one bell on rope.
3. Time begins when animals front shoulder breaks plane of chute.
4. Ride will be timed for eight(8) seconds.
5. If an animal fails to perform, a re-ride at the judges discretion is optional.
6. If the flank comes off, a re-ride option will be made, providing the competitor was qualified at the time. Judges decisions are final.
7. No more than two helpers on the back of the chute. This does not include flankman.
8. If rider finishes ride with any part of the rope in his hand without having disqualified, they will be marked and given a score.
9. The rider must make three(3) honest attempts to get out on an animal, before a re-ride option is given.
RIDER DISQUALIFICATIONS
1. Being bucked off before the eight second time.
2. Touching animal or self with fr ee hand.
3. Using sharp spurs.
4. Placing spurs under rope or in the knot.
5. Not being ready when advised to be so.
OTHER RULES
1. Judge on the latch side is the final call on official time.
2. If offered the re-ride option, the rider must make decision immediately. Once the next animal bucks the option is closed.
3. Only the rider may ask judges for a re-ride option, not the parent or legal guardian. Parents/ Legal Guardians are not allowed to approach judges. THE UMB WILL NOT TOLERATE ANYONE QUESTIONING THE INTEGRITY OF IT'S PERSONNEL.
4. No rider or parent/legal guardian will be present during or attempt to influence the draw.
5. In the event that the top third of long go riders do not have qualified rides, in a division, a random draw of those riders without qualified ride will decide the shortgo competitors.
SEASON FINALS
There will be a season finals at the completion of the regular season. This finals will be at a time, place and date set by the UMB. It will consist of two(2) long rounds and a short round. Riders must participate in the regular season and be in good standing. Entry Fee will set by the UMB.
